Comprised of Adam Brackman, Monte Large, and Jeff Kaplan, Urban Deal specializes in urban, retail, and commercial development.

Adam Brackman

Adam is a co-founder of New Living and has an extensive background in leveraging technology and social media to bring new ideas to the market. He is also a partner of Urban Deal specializing in mixed-use development and brokerage. Adam has been involved with several successful start-up ventures including the Caroline Collective. He also has a passion for photography and is New Living’s photographer.

 

Monte Peña-Large

Monte is director of retail development with Urban Deal and co-founder of the Green Painter, the country’s first paint retailer devoted solely to the environmental health. With a background in design and business, he has worked as merchandiser/store design with H&M in New York, specialized in retail site selection and leasing with Wulfe & Co, and co-founded ArtStorm – an independent arts collective devoted to showcasing emerging Houston artists. He is a William Kinne International Development Fellow at and graduate of Columbia University’s Masters of Real Estate Development at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation; an ICSC Foundation Charles Grossman Graduate Scholar; winner of redevelopment proposal for 342 Pearl St in New York City; and holds a Bachelors Degree from Bard College in Studio Art and Architecture.

 

Jeff Kaplan

Jeff founded New Living in 2007 and began selling eco-friendly products in January 2008. He has a passion for green living and the revitalization of cities. He was the Chair of Sustainability for the Houston District Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and sat on ULI’s Houston board. Jeff also sits on the board of the Rice Building Institute and the Archetypes steering committee.
